Independent Security Systems Audit

Know exactly what you have. Know what it does. Know what happens next.

Sanctuary Access Security provides independent security systems audits for businesses, property owners and facilities teams. We document existing security infrastructure, assess its condition and functionality, identify gaps and limitations, and provide a clear, prioritised plan for what needs to happen next.

Our role is simple: give clients a clear understanding of the security systems they already own, before they commit to unnecessary replacement or investment.

Engineer documenting an installed security system during a site audit

Independent

We are not asking you to replace your system.

We are telling you what you have already got.

  • No obligation to replace your system.
  • No requirement to use Sanctuary Access Security for remedial work.
  • We work alongside your existing security provider, or help you procure alternatives where that suits you better.
  • Manufacturer-neutral: we have no quota to fill and no single brand to promote.

The Sanctuary Audit Method

Six steps, in the same order, on every property

01

Identify

What is actually installed?

We walk the property and record every system, panel, detector, camera, reader, intercom and exit device that is physically present — not what the paperwork says should be.

02

Understand

What does it do?

We trace how each system is configured and what it is genuinely capable of, including the zones, areas, permissions and coverage it actually provides.

03

Verify

Does it operate as intended?

We test and observe devices and system functions, so the report reflects real operation rather than an assumed design.

04

Assess

Is it appropriate for the property?

We compare the installation against the building, its current use and your operational requirements, and identify gaps, omissions and design faults.

05

Prioritise

What needs attention first?

Every finding is graded and ordered, so urgent risk is separated from work that can safely wait.

06

Plan

What should happen next?

You receive a staged improvement plan with realistic timescales, so capital expenditure can be budgeted rather than reacted to.

The deliverable

You finish with an asset document, not a quotation.

Your systems are recorded device by device: what it is, where it is, what it protects, its condition and its expected remaining life. Each finding carries a priority and a recommendation, in plain English.

The register belongs to you. It can be handed to any contractor, taken to another installer, or added to your building documentation — that is the point of it.

Why an audit is worth paying for

A property can carry a hundred thousand pounds of security equipment and nobody can say what it does.

Buildings change. Owners, tenants, facilities managers and contractors come and go, while the equipment stays. Doors move, rooms are repurposed, cameras are added, permissions accumulate and the paperwork disappears. Eventually the systems are still running, but nobody can describe them.

Can you currently say, with confidence…

?what equipment is installed, and where every device is
?which cameras actually cover which areas, and whether they identify or merely detect
?what alarm zones correspond to, and which doors are controlled
?who holds access permissions
?which equipment is obsolete, unsupported or approaching replacement
?whether systems are integrated or running in isolation
?whether the original design still suits the building
?whether extensions and alterations have created gaps
?what the previous installer actually installed
?what documentation exists
?what your maintenance contract is really paying for
?what needs urgent attention, and what can safely remain

That is information value. When a building changes hands, or a maintenance contract changes provider, it becomes the most valuable thing on the site.
